Shopify to HubSpot
Hosted commerce platform for storefront, checkout, products, orders and customers. The usual pattern is to keep it as the system of record and sync data into HubSpot.
Shopify data can move into HubSpot, landing mainly in Content Hub. 2 of 6 mapped objects move directly (Customers and Products); 3 items need manual work and 2 do not move. Plan roughly 1-3 weeks for a small move and 8-16 weeks for a large one.
Migration checklist for Shopify
Three phases, specific to this system. Tick steps off as you go.

No price list: cost follows volume, custom objects and how much logic must be rebuilt. Answer four quick questions for a planning range.
The three scenarios
Small migration
<10k customers, <1k products
Native sync only.
Mid migration
10k-100k customers
Custom properties, filters and some content rebuild.
Large migration
>100k customers, multiple stores or B2B
Custom API work, metafields and deduplication.
What moves the number
Timeline ranges are planning estimates, not a quote. A partner confirms scope after discovery.
Access, mapping and limits
Start with how data leaves Shopify: what you need to get in, what lands in HubSpot, and what will not.
GraphQL Admin API (REST Admin API is legacy)
Store domain (.myshopify.com) plus an installed app's access token, or an install through the HubSpot app.
GraphQL Admin API is cost-based: Standard 100 points/s, Advanced 200, Plus 1,000, Enterprise 2,000. A single query is capped at 1,000 points.

How will you move the data?
HubSpot offers an integration for importing records from Shopify.
- You need: Store domain (.myshopify.com) plus an installed app's access token, or an install through the HubSpot app.
- Permission: To confirm
Native imports often bring over only some data, so check coverage per object in the mapping below.
Export each object, clean it, then import it into HubSpot.
- GraphQL Admin API (bulk operations are mentioned in third-party sources)
- HubSpot Data Sync app (native)
- Third-party sync apps such as Shopify Sync by Unific
Limits: GraphQL Admin API is cost-based: Standard 100 points/s, Advanced 200, Plus 1,000, Enterprise 2,000. A single query is capped at 1,000 points.
Migration and sync tools can move more than a plain import. Confirm which objects each one supports before you choose.
Best when volume is high, custom objects are many or automation is heavy. That is the Large scenario: 8-16 weeks, usually phased.

| Source object | In HubSpot | Moves | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Customers | Contacts | yes | Sync can be one-way or two-way. Properties include name, email, phone, address, tags and order count. |
| Orders | Deals | partial | Guides describe orders syncing as deals. Installs after Dec 2, 2023 sync orders to HubSpot Order records by default, and Unific can still sync orders as deals. |
| Products | Products | yes | Syncs title, price, SKU and similar fields. Unific also brings in variants. |
| Order line items | Line items | partial | Carried with orders. Variant SKU mapping may need configuring. |
| Abandoned checkouts | Deals | partial | Cart and checkout events sync, which supports abandoned-cart workflows. Unific can sync checkouts as deals. |
| Pages and blog posts | Custom objects | manual | Not shown in the sources I reviewed. Treat the content migration as manual or API-built. |
What to expect
These stay in Shopify under the integrate/retain scope. The sync carries data, not logic.
A HubSpot Community post says this is not possible on the new Order object the way it is for Deals.
Setup guides list both as pre-install steps.
There is no connector for this content in the sources I reviewed.
The choice depends on install date and on which connector you use.
Filter to customers with an email address and to recent orders.
Restrict who can delete orders and archive them instead.
Throttle queries and keep each one under the 1,000-point cap.
Define a source of truth per field before enabling two-way sync.
Data governance and compliance
Decide what is allowed to move before anything is exported. Tick each gate once it is agreed.
How we researched this page
How much to trust each section, and where it comes from.
The Admin API and its rate limits are backed by Shopify's developer docs (S5). The HubSpot object mapping rests on third-party guides and a HubSpot Community post, not HubSpot's own docs. Export formats and governance details were not verified.
