Chargebee to HubSpot
Subscription billing and revenue management platform for recurring invoicing, payment collection and subscription lifecycle.
Chargebee data can move into HubSpot, landing mainly in Revenue Hub. 2 of 7 mapped objects move directly (Customers and Customers (company-level)); 3 items need manual work and 2 do not move. Plan roughly 1-2 weeks for a small move and 6-12 weeks for a large one.

No price list: cost follows volume, custom objects and how much logic must be rebuilt. Answer four quick questions for a planning range.
The three scenarios
Small migration
Up to 5k customers
Native app with default mapping.
Mid migration
5k-50k customers
Custom fields, deal pipelines and lifecycle rules.
Large migration

Access, mapping and limits
Start with how data leaves Chargebee: what you need to get in, what lands in HubSpot, and what will not.
REST API (v2) plus webhooks
Chargebee site name and an API key, which is created under Settings > Configure Chargebee > API keys.
Admin access to Chargebee to create API keys and configure integrations. This is category-level, not confirmed in the sources.
Live sites: Starter 150/min, Performance 1000/min, Enterprise 3500/min by default, custom plans have no upper limit. Test sites: 150/min. Concurrency is capped at 50 GET and 100 POST. Excess requests get HTTP 429.

How will you move the data?
HubSpot offers an integration for importing records from Chargebee.
- You need: Chargebee site name and an API key, which is created under Settings > Configure Chargebee > API keys.
- Permission: Admin access to Chargebee to create API keys and configure integrations. This is category-level, not confirmed in the sources.
Native imports often bring over only some data, so check coverage per object in the mapping below.
Export each object, clean it, then import it into HubSpot.
- REST API list endpoints, paginated with a default of 10 records and a limit of up to 100, plus an offset or next_offset
- Export API for customers, with SDK helpers that wait for export completion
- Webhooks for event-driven sync
Limits: Live sites: Starter 150/min, Performance 1000/min, Enterprise 3500/min by default, custom plans have no upper limit. Test sites: 150/min. Concurrency is capped at 50 GET and 100 POST. Excess requests get HTTP 429.
Migration and sync tools can move more than a plain import. Confirm which objects each one supports before you choose.
Best when volume is high, custom objects are many or automation is heavy. That is the Large scenario: 6-12 weeks, usually phased.

| Source object | In HubSpot | Moves | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Customers | Contacts | yes | The native sync maps email, name, phone, the Chargebee customer ID, billing address, auto-collection and preferred currency. |
| Customers (company-level) | Companies | yes | Matching uses contact email, then the email domain and company name. You can overwrite fields, fill only empty ones, or link records only. |
| Subscriptions | Deals | partial | The native sync updates Deals. Quote-to-Cash can also create Chargebee subscriptions from HubSpot deals. |
| Plans / items / product SKUs | Products | partial | Quote-to-Cash syncs product SKUs to HubSpot. Each SKU is synced once when several Chargebee sites share it. |
| Invoices | Custom objects | partial | Invoices and subscriptions appear as cards on HubSpot records, and the Chargebee integration mapping includes invoices. I did not confirm that invoices are stored as full HubSpot objects. |
| Payment status / dues | Deals | partial | The Chargebee marketplace listing says dues are shown in HubSpot. Third-party tools can map invoice and payment events to deal properties. |
| Orders | Deals | partial | A Chargebee blog post says orders map to HubSpot objects. |
What to expect
These sit with Chargebee's payment gateway. The scope note says never to assume token portability, and I found no source on transfer.
HubSpot has no billing-ledger parity. The analyst scope says to retain these in Chargebee or the accounting system.
The native integration sets lifecycle stage from rules you configure.
Quote-to-Cash supports up to 15 additional mapped fields.
The native sync shows invoice cards but does not necessarily create full records.
Keep Chargebee as the source of truth for billing and make the sync one-way for financial fields.
Dedupe HubSpot first, and use Link records only for the first pass.
Use backoff with jitter and honour the Retry-After header. Ask Chargebee Support for a higher limit.
Choose Update empty fields or Link only until the mapping is validated.
Data governance and compliance
Decide what is allowed to move before anything is exported. Tick each gate once it is agreed.
How we researched this page
How much to trust each section, and where it comes from.
API access, rate limits and the native HubSpot integration are backed by Chargebee and HubSpot docs. Governance, cost and the payment-vault and tax notes are category-level knowledge. I did not check Chargebee's export UI, its object coverage in detail, or its certifications.
